Walk-in Healthcare

For the latest information on the COVID-19 outbreak and how it affects your clinic, visit our COVID-19 resource page.

NMC offers walk-in healthcare with a broad range of services in two locations – Newton and Park City. If your doctor isn’t available, and it’s not serious enough for an ER visit, walk-in care can be an affordable alternative.  However, patients may be asked to seek care at an emergency room or their primary care provider for conditions such as:

  • Chest/abdominal pain
  • Stroke symptoms
  • Head trauma & obvious fractures
  • Children under 6 months old

When to go to the ER

In many instances, walk-in care can be used as a alternative to the ER. However, Convenient Care and Walk-in Health Clinic are not emergency treatment centers. Patients should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if experiencing a medical emergency. This includes, but is not limited to symptoms and conditions such as:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Chest pain or heart attack
  • Childbirth or pregnancy-related issues
  • Head trauma
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Major trauma or accident
  • Stroke or stroke-like symptoms
  • Uncontrollable bleeding

Routine and Preventative Care

While our walk-in care doctors are equipped to treat symptoms of chronic conditions, routine medical care should be provided by your primary care or family doctor. This includes:

  • Childhood immunizations
  • Chronic disease/pain management
  • Diabetes management
  • High blood pressure management
  • Medication requests or prescription refills
  • Routine wellness exams
