Newton Medical Center (NMC) announces that Jennifer Hamm, director of imaging, will take on the additional role of director of business development.
In this expanded role, Hamm will be responsible for developing and implementing new clinical outreach opportunities at NMC in collaboration with key service line and departmental leaders. In addition to providing leadership support in strategic and operations planning for business expansion and development, Hamm will focus on relationships with existing business partners, especially physicians, as well as those within the healthcare community.
“The goal of this position is to facilitate relationships with NMC customers, in turn, providing them with the highest level of service,” explains Heather Porter, NMC chief clinical officer. “Jennifer has served as a shining example of customer service at NMC for years. So, when the decision was made to create this position, Jennifer’s skill set was instantly recognized. She excels at developing and sustaining relationships, which will ensure her success in the role.”
Hamm joined NMC nearly eight years ago as a staff technologist in the Imaging Department. Since then, she has served as department supervisor and now director.
“I’ve experienced NMC from the front-line up to director and believe that this gives me a unique perspective of how all aspects of patient care come together,” says Hamm. “I look forward to cultivating relationships with our clinical partners on behalf of NMC.”
Hamm graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in radiologic technology degree from Hutchinson Community College (HCC) in 2005. Prior to her radiology career, Hamm was a business major studying at both the University of Kansas and Wichita State University, as well as completing a finance internship. Hamm serves on the student advisory board of the Radiologic Technology Program at HCC, sits on the advisory board of the Newton YMCA and is an active member of the Association for Medical Imaging Management. Hamm is active on various committees throughout the hospital, including the Service Excellence committee.
